    You can guess from the title and video, but yes: Philia and Aurelia will merge into one server. This means Philia and Aurelia will get a complete reset for this merge. The video covers the main reasons, as well as a little spoiler of another person coming to help Ergo run the server, but I'll list and explain the main reasons. I will ALSO be listing some of the new features that this new server will have so get ready for a long list.

    Main Reasons for this Merge
    1. Time Management

    This merge will save Ergo time in trying to get bug fixes, updates, new features, etc to everyone. This time will be spent on actually expanding the server instead of restarting it.
    2. Two completely different servers
    Instead of having two similar and one random survival server, it was best to just have two servers (as it was originally for more than 2 years) where each one is different. This way, players can see the two servers in action and pick the one they wish to play on. Plus, if they wish to experience a different challenge, they can just hop onto the other server.
    3. Everything can be kept longer!
    This mainly means that there will be longer times between resets. As stated in the video, we've been having a restart for a server every 3 months or so. With this merge, we can keep the server longer.

    The main question people will ask is: Why Philia?!
    Lothar has been the 'bread and butter' of the server since it's start and we wish to keep it that way. Philia is also still relatively new and has had a lot of changes to it (including no more grinders). With this merge, we can improve upon the many issues Philia has been having.

    Key Features
    1. LESS LAG

    This merge we are trying to target people with lower end pcs (those that aren't super computers) as well as new players to the multiplayer world. The spawn will be very basic with warps to different areas. We want this server to be as lag free as possible. Merging these two will also let us increase the render distance to 7-8, more so than what's currently available. We are also carrying over our rule of NO MAN-MADE GRINDERS. This means that all grinders must be done naturally, with the spawner where it is and work around it. We will NOT be compensating anymore for spawners, so either break them or work around them. We will not be placing any spawners for people, whether it be an intentional break or accidental.

    2. PLAYER WARPS
    This idea of player warps to shops/towns has been going around for a while, but this new server will now have player warps available for sell (Process will be explained at a later date). These will replace our main player shop market that we have right now. These warps will help promote player towns as well as get the economy running for players.

    3. ECONOMY CHANGES

    This is the big thing for all players. This new economy will be solely player based. All prices will be determined by players (diamonds will still be the only fixed price for 100 per). There will be no sell shop at ALL to admin shop. You are welcome to buy from admin shop, but there will be no way to sell to our admin shop. This is to prevent our economy from collapsing, like it's done from before. With the player warps also, we will see more player to player interaction with selling, which is what we want our new server to be.

    4. CRATES AND KEYS
    Crates and keys will be changed from what they have been before. The crates will be like CSGO, where each crate has items ranked from common - super rare. More info on the crates and keys will follow once the server is up and running.

    5. PVP Arena
    We're going back to old school where we only have an arena for players to PvP in. That being said, instead of losing all your items and gear upon losing, you will pay a cut of your money instead. It will basically be sort of like a tournament style where you win money at the end.

    6. RANKS WILL CONVERT TO NEW RANKS
    People who've played on Aurelia will know that some people have old donator ranks and some will have new ranks. We are converting all old ranks into new ranks. We also will be keeping all commands from Lothar/Philia to this new server, so it will be less confusing for individuals.

    Quick answer to a question. Will the nether and End have pvp that is a negative.
    PVP will only be in the arena. You can earn Corbacash and other players items there.

    As someone who's played on Aurelia for years, I really don't like the sound of this. But hear me out first!
    If you have ever played on Aurelia, it is a server that doesn't get a lot of traffic, but it has more prominent long term players. I like this, because not only does chat not fill up half your screen constantly as you share a server with 25+ players, it is also a lot less laggier because theres not as many players on. This also means that mob farms run at a higher efficiency as well.
    Another thing that would change would be the addition to crates. Now, believe me, I love crates. They give awesome OP tools, Armour and the lot. Buuuttt, when Aurelia was released (after its last reset) crates were not added to make it more of a survival server. At first, I didn't really like it. But, I now actually really like it because it keeps things a lot more simpler and more survially-ish. Its also probably one of the reasons why not as many people play on it too.
    Another thing to consider is all of the progress that will be deleted and lost on both servers. It really hasn't been that long since Aurelia had a reset, and I really don't want another reset to happen again so soon. I could deal with a normal, usual server reset, but a reset and then a merge? That will disrupt two servers at once and then throw them both into a great big melting pot from which who knows what will come out. I'm also slightly concerned about the new ranks. I really like my rank where it is right now on Aurelia, (#Love/Fly) and I'm worried that I will lose some of my awesome benefits it gives.
    I am really hoping you will not carry through the Man Made Grinders rule. I love being able to silk touch my spawners and move them as needed. If you do go though with this rule, consider this: Homes will have to be set at grinders for quick and easy access, whereas only one home would have worked, Players will have to design the farm they use on where the spawner is located, this can be extremely limiting, especially if you are close to bedrock, you'll have to make a grinder for each individual mob you need to grind instead of making one universal grinder, and the economy won't be as booming with less mob loot being collected and sold, traded and crafted.
    I also really don't want a reset to happen on Aurelia because I know that will "drive away" a lot of my friends and regulars that play on there. For example, Hawk_CC, BunnyRuby, Matrix, Crepe, NatCat, Endahs, PandaMania, etc. A lot of alliances and towns will also be broken up, for example NatCat has been recently building her very own town in a mushroom biome sheound, and when you just start on something as awesome as that only to see it bee taken away, I know that can be really, really, really depressing.
    I think that you should just upgrade Phillia, and keep upgrading iT and making Phillia better, and just leave Aurelia as is. Aurelia should stay the survival server that it is, with not many players but with a big heart. #LeaveAureliaAlone!!!

    Another thing I should mention/ask- wouldn't it be a good idea to do this merge after 1.14 The Aquatic Update? I think it would make sense to do it then because that is our next major (and totally awesome) update thats coming in the Spring. IF, this reset go through (#LeaveAureliaAlone!) I think it would make better sense to do it then because we'll have new biomes, mobs, structures etc to explore that would have been a lot harder to reach if this happened before 1.14.
    Also, I think that IF (#LeaveAureliaAlone!) this reset goes through, there should be a room at spawn where you pay a fee to kill shulkers being spawned from a spawner for a limited amount of time just because the End will become completely raided making it near impossible for those without /fly to reach fresh End Cities.

    I kinda feel bad for a lot of the players on Aurelia because of this and I like Finn's idea on waiting until the update to implement this. That being said... if this happens as a player on Lothar who was advocating for player warps, I think I will have to start splitting my time between the new server and Lothar since I really like the idea of being able to use spawners, but I like how player warps can allow for a creation of more towns. I guess I may be seen more frequently on servers other than Lothar if this is to happen.

    Well the issue with your first statement is that there weren't a lot of players on Aurelia. Aurelia has been, yes, the quiet server but also the "dead" server at times. Sure, the few players that were active participants will be upset but overall, I don't feel the Aurelia player base will be losing much. Yes, those active participants will be losing their bases, homes, money, etc. but...I mean Aurelia has reset in the past and if it wasn't for this merge it'd be reset again.

    Servers can update 100% with a big update and have no negative impact on the server and this is our goal every time a big update comes out. We never plan to have things be deleted, homes to be lost, etc. but unfortunately some things just happen. For now, our goal is to go on with the merge as planned (updating this Saturday) and then deal with the 1.13 update when we come to it which again, no actual release date for that has been announced. One thing at a time.

    To answer Finn's long comment:

    As gigi mentioned, Aurelia has been dead. It's been dead for quite some time. There has been a max of 10 people on that I've seen, and that was on a really good day...and also when another server was down. It hasn't been getting any traffic and it's honestly a mess atm with claims up against admin claims, claims gone due to all players not going on Aurelia anymore, no one contributing to the economy, etc. This merge is supposed to bring life back into the once popular Aurelia. All aspects you speak so highly of, is what's causing some degradition of said server and/or other servers.

    The spawners in particular WILL happen because having players just silk touch and place has caused immense lag on the server because 9 out of 10 people would place with NO lighting set up. We reduced this to have limits in place + mods place spawners on Lothar only. Lothar will now be the home for grinders at the present time. If you wish to have a grinder, you are free to build around a naturally placed spawner.

    The /fly command is for all donator ranks, whether old or new, so converting will not let you lose that perk.

    Whilst I feel really, really sorry for people who play on Philia, I like this.

    I love that the two servers will be so different and I also love that ergo has decided to get someone to help him run things.

    People (myself included at times) complain a lot about corba at the moment so let's take this how it's meant to be taken, in that Ergo is trying to help improve things for us.

    The most important thing to me and its something I have began to understand now more then ever is that quality will always be better then quantity. As a person that works a pretty tedious full time job, a college student, and on top of it running the server. It does get overwhelming. Reducing the amount of servers and things I constantly have to worry about will allow me to have some freedom with the survival servers. Hopefully meeting everyones needs and desires. Now in reply to Finn to solve your first thing being the chat issue I have an idea for that I can try out which would allow you to turn on and off your chat with a command.

    I understand this is a very hard transition as we have had 3 survival servers for a very long time but I promise I am doing best with the time that I have. If you want a quality server I can give you that. A very high quality server here soon as my focus will be on the development of one and the person I am bringing on would be focused on the other. This is difficult and I am sorry but in order to provide you all with fewer resets, less lag, and a server constantly being made better this is what we believe we need to do.

    With all this said I ask you trust me and if your able to do that I am able to promise I will do the best I possibly can for all of you.

    In reply to Ergo, I don't want to turn off the chat completely/forever because some important stuff is said in there that I don't want to miss. For example, event announcements, trades, people offering things to sell I want to buy, private messages etc. Maybe you could make it so chat only goes up a little bit before the messages disappear?
    In response to Alice about the spawners, I think that in certain circumstances staff should move the spawner to a pre approved location by staff that is far more convenient for the player because the location of the spawner can be eXtRemLy limting a lot of the time. Also, you need every /home you can get, so you really don't have any to spare once you get really into the game. This would solve that problem.

    I think that you should just give these upgrades to Phillia, and just leave Aurelia as is and not worry about it since you don't want to deal with the hassle of upgrading and managing Aurelia.
    When "new" Aurelia came out, it was just meant to be a non op survival friendly server without crates and all that craziness that occurs on Lothar and Phillia. And I think that it should stay that way. if it doesn't get as much foot traffic because of this, so be it.
    Less players on Aurelia just makes things easier for players who play on Aurelia, staff who don't have to be on there constantly managing it (aNd placing spawners), and for Ergo because he doesn't hAvE to keep adding new exciting crate stuff to it so that people will keep playing.
    Oh, I forgot to mention that the reset is on the 16th. Isn't that a little too sudden? You put out this video on the 14th giving us just 2 days before the reset. I feel as if we should be given more time to talk about this and have our questions answered, instead of just logging in to CC to discover all of your stuff has been reset and deleted....

    I agree with the time. More warning should be given but for now, the plan is still going through as scheduled which is scheduled for tomorrow around 1 PM, I think.
